preparation

  1. Read the material on the song transcription page. 

  2. Transcribe the form of a song as a class.


Process

  1. Choose a song and record the artist, song name, and song length in the organizer.

  2. Listen to the song and record the sections of the song and the lengths of the phrases. 

  3. Identify the type of ending that the song used.


Remediation

  • Have everyone in the class transcribe the same song.

  • Don’t require the phrase section to be completed.


Enrichment

  • Limit the amount of times the student can listen to the song. 

  • Ask for the base subdivisions of each section.
